G.O.O.D. Morning: Q-Tip signs to Kanye's G.O.O.D. music

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Sorry for screaming guys but I can't help but to be excited by the awesome news I heard this morning. Legendary artist/MC/Producer Q-Tip signed with GOOD Music. This has been a long time coming. Kanye and Q-Tip have worked together on numerous occasions and its made for some great music. Kamaal the Abstract (Q-Tip) has been a legend in this game for years and has had stints of revivals and this seems to be another example of that. This signing makes complete sense on Kanye's part as well. He is no stranger to signing artist that he is a fan of or he's worked well with. Common, Pusha T, Consequence (Q-Tip,s cousin) are all Legends and under the GOOD music umbrella. This is quite surprising and to be expected all at the same time. Can't wait to see what Ye and the Abstract cook up now that they have officially joined forces. In honor of this signing figured I'd leave you all with one of my favorite Tribe Called Quest tracks and the Motto for Visions of Quest. ENJOI!!

Profanity: Madden 13 cover

The infamous Madden Curse. Many believe it to be true while others chalk it up to coincidence. Every year madden has a new NFL superstar grace the cover of Madden and it seems that every year some freak occurrence befalls that athlete or his team. This year the voting for the superstar who will be placed on the cover is well under way. This tournament Style voting has dwindled to four players: Cam Newton of The Carolina Panthers, Patrick Willis of the San Francisco 49ers, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions. All had phenomenal season and were pivotal for their teams success. Gracing the Madden cover is for the most part seen as an honor (and it is) but many can't help to ponder whether or not that "Madden Curse" is real. They are all deserving of the honor but the question is who is willing to have their teams best player on the cover and (coincidently) have something bad happen. My question to you guys is who should be on the cover? I ask from both the good and the bad side. Who would you hope makes the cover because they deserve it? Riding: Schoolboy Q and A$VP Rocky - Hands on the Wheel

I usually go through a heavy screening process when it comes to new music because I'm quite picky when it comes to what I play in my iPod. So it was a major surprise to me when I pushed play and instantly started vibing to this song by two of raps newest young guns A$VP Rocky and Schoolboy Q. The heavy knock of the beat and their carefree substance abuse based lyrics make for quite the YOLO-ish (you only live once) track. It is an enjoyable song on that basis. I have had it on repeat since yesterday and I think that might continue for the next couple of days. Although I know it's not a new track it's new to me and that's what's important. So if you haven't heard it check it out and hopefully you'll like it as much as I do or if you have bump to it again! I also have to say that it is off the strength of this track alone that I am prompted to do a bit of research on the two artist featured. So listen, tell me what you think and ENJOI!

I know it seems like a rare occurrence to see me on the blog but I'm always cooking up something in the background. All that aside I felt compelled to bring you guys a new post from an artist I have been keeping up with for some time now. Formerly known as Future Joyner, Joyner Lucas has been making a bunch of noise in the underground of the rap world. His consistent lyrics and growth from my I first listen of him to now is quite the story to watch. He emailed me a video of a submission he made for a lyricist contest and I have to say it had me fanning my phone from the sheer heat I heard spewed from my speakers. He's got the talent to seriously make an impact on the larger hip hop world and I have to give props where it's due. Adele Dominates 2012 Grammy's

If you missed the Grammy's last nite you missed a lot! Adele proved once again that she is totally on top of music by going a perfect 6 for 6 including Record of The Year as well as the coveted Album of The Year. Kanye also had a solid night grabbing 4 of his own (Including best Rap Album for Dark Fantasy that was pretty much a lock)! This post isn't about Nicki's performance (no comment) or Gaga's wardrobe, or Jennifer Hudson's stunning tribute to Jersey's own Whitney Houston!
